APC blames Atiku over unemployment rate in Nigeria | The Guardian Nigeria Newspaper - Nigeria and World News

The Presidential Campaign Council of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) on Thursday said the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar was to be blamed for the current unemployment rate in Nigeria. Spokesman of the APC presidential campaign, Festus Keyamo made the claim while reacting to Atiku and his running mate Peter Obi’s claims on a national television programme ‘The Candidate’. However, the APC campaign spokesman believes Atiku, who was Nigeria’s vice president from 1999 till 2007 under former Olusegun Obasanjo administration was to be blamed for the increasing unemployment rate. Prior to the debate, Atiku in his ‘Get Nigeria Working Again’ policy document promised to provide about two million jobs if elected president. Keyamo said Atiku would only enrich himself if elected Nigeria president in the February 16 presidential election.
